Welcome to the Linwood Family YMCA, also known as the James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center — a welcoming hub of wellness, youth development, and connection in the heart of urban Kansas City. Whether you’re here to stay active, build skills, or find community support, this branch is for you and your family.
Linwood is more than a fitness center. Alongside a wellness center with strength and cardio equipment, an indoor pool, and basketball and gym space, you’ll find innovative community spaces like a Teen Tech Center, a community garden, a teaching kitchen, a community room, and a food pantry — bringing technology access, nutrition education, and youth engagement together under one roof.
From swim lessons and youth sports to group exercise and personal training, the programs here support every member of the family. A partnership with University Health even brings a primary care and behavioral health clinic adjoining the Y, making the Linwood Y a true multifaceted hub of opportunity and well-being for the community it serves.
